Have you ever met an old classmate, former colleague, or a random stranger, and they unexpectedly asked what you are working on at that moment in your life? Think about it because your ability to articulate with absolute clarity your career goals is one vital indicator of future success.
If you can talk about your career goals with clarity, it indicates a clear vision and sharp focus. You cannot complete a journey to an unknown destination. If you embark on a trip with a clear vision, you will arrive at your destination not only at the right time but for the right reasons.
It is easy to wander off the trajectory to a destination if you aren’t sure where you are going or why you want to go there. With a clear and focused vision, no discouragement or opposition can keep you from accomplishing your desires, such as getting a promotion or carrying out any project. A clear vision and unwavering focus are a potent combination, a trump card for your access into a whole new dimension of life (especially after COVID). These two mindsets can propel you to the very top of your career!
Proverbs 29: 18 (KJV) tells us that with no vision, people perish. It is impossible to reach your goals in life or pursue your dreams to completion if you do not engage the power of your imagination: it is the power to visualize; in other words, it is the power that sustains your vision.
In the book of Exodus, you can see how the wrong imagination (poor vision and focus), wrapped in disobedience and the I-know-it-all phenomenon, turned a forty-day journey into forty years. That costly mistake caused the death of the Israelites national dreams and individual career goals.
Know your vision (Habakkuk 2: 2). Write and memorize it. Read it aloud and run with it, with a rock-solid focus. Engage all success principles outlined in the posts in this blog. However, do so with a razor-sharp focus and crystal clear view of your desired destination in mind; see your destination, and refuse to veer off your chosen path.
This simple mindset, if embraced, is guaranteed to propel you to the top! Nothing and nobody can stop a man or woman who knows what they want. Do you know with certainty what you want? Yes? Your place at the top is guaranteed!
