Quote of the week: There is a thin line between #success and #failure known as #knowledge. #Read, to acquire knowledge and make your life count (Hosea 4:6). #RolandRayKangong
Consider this
In last week’s post, we concluded that it can never be late to realize any dream in your life. In other words, we were affirming that anything you make up your mind to achieve is possible. We said that it doesn’t really matter how much you may have struggled in your life; as long as you have the right knowledge. You can succeed anywhere, anytime if you shun discouragement and embrace new possibilities.
I gave you a little assignment, to read through the book of Esther. Why did I do that? If you go to our quote of the week in this blog, you will read that there is a thin line between success and failure called knowledge. And, principally, knowledge comes from books, from reading.
There is knowledge in The Book, and in the book of Esther, the character Mordecai has an important lesson for us even in our modern age.
Vital knowledge
Mordecai was a Jewish captive in a foreign land. We read in Esther 2:5-6 that he was in the palace, most probably like a nobody (if he had a job at the palace it would have been mentioned, isn’t it?). Yet he was an honest man. He reported an assassination plot against king Ahasuerus. And got no acknowledgement, until the right moment came.
That nothing much is happening in your life right now doesn’t signal the end. That is why I keep saying you cannot be discouraged. There is a right moment for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). This, is important knowledge to have.
The role of your gift
Mordecai sought the welfare of the king when he reported the assassination plot; his honesty and commitment would later lead to his elevation. He also sought the welfare of his people. That, is exactly how to use your gift. Your gift or position in life is not given to you for selfish self-aggrandizement. If you prosper, and yet seek nobody’s welfare, of what use is your gift?
If you work in insurance, your concern should be the welfare of your clients. A doctor’s concern should be the welfare of his/her patients; the teacher or lecturer should be concerned about the welfare of their students. In your career, be concerned more about the welfare of the people (clients) you serve.
However…
When you fight, hurt others, pray and fast for promotion, or work hard for your business to boom, whose welfare are you seeking? Think about it!
Today’s technology innovators developed and are still developing tech solutions to address the welfare of humanity. Even if the founders of Apple, Microsoft, IBM, Google, Facebook, PayPal etc wanted their innovations to be a success, I believe their primary motive was to provide solutions to humanity; they were seeking man’s welfare. And as a result, they prospered beyond imagination, and became very wealthy.
Look at this
Mordecai went from ‘insignificant’ to stardom, prosperity and great honour. We read that “…Mordecai was great in the king’s house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.” (Esther 9:4 KJV). The aforementioned tech innovators, wanting to solve human problems with their technological innovations, have transformed society and gained enormous prosperity. They have also ‘waxed greater and greater’ like Mordecai. And, you too can.
Your takeaway
Therein is the principle I want you to write down, read and use. Instead of ‘working for money’, seek the welfare of the people you’re serving. And, money, fame, honor, significance, whatever you want, will look for you. It is that simple.
So, do this…
Do you want your life to count? Seek the welfare of mankind. It could be a neighbor, colleague, church member, or even a complete stranger. That is why I always end my posts by reminding you that the world is waiting for your impact. Humanity needs solutions that are buried inside you, in your gift.
If you do, then like Mordecai and our modern-day tech innovators, your promotion in life will come suddenly, when you’re least expecting it. You will move from insignificance to stardom. That’s the reward for having the right knowledge.
What are you going to do? Again, the world is waiting for your unique solution to some human problem.

To be true to our subject matter, you cannot think a of gift without first acknowledging the giver, that means acknowledging the identity of the giver who using his ingenuity made up his or her mind to give what is his or hers to give you.For us Christains God gave us Jesus and went on to vindicate him when he was unjustly killed and we have him alife forever because he was obedient to God reason for giving him that life, which was to die for the salvation of those who believe in him.The giver gives because their is a reason for that gift, namely to advance the cause of human life.God values human life very much.Sometimes I ask myself whether we humans do same.If want God to be happy with us we must do things that amerolate Homan life with our gifts not things that destroy the life.Children are a gift of from God.Holding a child in your hand see first of all a portaintial of hands mind and will.See also in that wormth of life a struggling ambition of ideals, the future of eternal life and ofcause the burning of ambition. What do you do with such a wonderful gift? You have to work with the giver to make that gift realise it fill portaintial s , if not you have failed. Knowledge trully is the key to putting our gifts to use.Thank God He said my people perish for lack of knowledge. Do you lack knowledge on how to manage your gift.Ask God.He said ask and you shall receive seek and you shall find and knock and it shall be opened onto you.Discouragement is the number one tool of the devil.Work with your Creator and banish from your life your enemy. Our Creator demands faithfulness and we would master life.
Amen. Brother thanks for this. It is very deep and how I wish human beings can acknowledge God and stop acting as if they own the breath of life.
Thank you.
Seek no glory for self, but fruits of success by being an inspiration to others. Be a good servant to mankind.
