Creativity for Success Part 1

Take a moment and read Genesis 30:25-43. In these verses, you can see Jacob’s creativity transform a situation of lack into one of abundance.
Creativity. I believe you know this word. It is a trump card for success in life and work. When you do something, for whatever reasons, you always make a demand, most of the time unconsciously, on your creativity.
What is creativity and, how does it work? Why is creativity important? Where is creativity applicable in life? And, most importantly, why is creativity a success principle?
Creativity in the context of this article is an ability to bring into tangible or intangible existence something (an asset) that did not exist before. It is usually in response to a need. Something that did not exist before does not necessarily mean a new invention. You can bring a creative solution to a human problem by re-imagining an answer, using existing ideas. Creativity does not mean re-inventing the wheel at any given moment.
Designing a house, for example, begins in the architect’s mind. He draws a plan on paper (the creative process) or a digital device then, the physical building is erected brick by brick, according to the design suggested by the architect’s plan. Designing and building a house is not a new thing. But, housing designs vary from building to building.
Creativity or the absence thereof determines the good or bad outcome of an action. Projects of any size or decisions that run companies or even governments in nations depend on creativity. Creativity can give birth to success. The absence of a creative approach to life may produce failure. Think about it!
Therefore, creativity is not for the artist, designer, architect, or engineer. You should be creative in your daily life; creativity is necessary for every conceivable human activity. And that would make you more productive.
You are born creative. The creative mind can be cultivated and refined through constant and regular use. It is therefore vital to find your gift and work hard to refine and put it to use. Working on your natural gifting is the best approach to unleashing your creative mind.
The creative businesswoman is the successful businesswoman. Understand? The man or woman that possesses this success principle owns a trump card to win in life!
