Pressure! Yes. It is a dreaded word. There is pressure at work. There is pressure in marriage. In business. At school. In families. And, in life, you cannot escape from it.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines pressure in the context of this article as the burden of physical or mental distress or the stress or urgency of matters demanding attention.

This mental burden called pressure is capable of severe damage to your body and soul. There is such a medical condition as high blood pressure. Although it is medically manageable, high blood pressure is also known to destroy lives.

The questions are: can you overcome pressure? Should pressure be avoided? Is it a good thing if viewed differently?

You may be under pressure right now but remember what the Bible says:

“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The above verse suggests that although pressure may exist in your life, you can deal with it; but, it doesn’t have to have power over you. Think about it. Things happen to everyone. And it doesn’t matter. Sooner or later, you always get an answer to every challenge creating pressure in your life. However, what solutions do you get? Someone who is sick and hospitalized may experience difficulty healing and even pass on if they allow pressure to take control. Someone in the same state may go ahead and recover totally and get back on their feet if they refuse to let it take control.

Therefore it boils down to this one thing: whether pressure makes you stronger or destroys you, it is totally within your reach to decide what you want. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 cited above clearly suggests that you have the power to beat pressure. Therefore, when pressurized, you have a CHOICE. Refuse to let pressure control you. It is easy. Learn to say NO to whatever you do not want. Even if the headache is there and you can feel it, still say NO to it! Affirmatively. Vehemently. And in faith!

What choice are you going to make? Choose not to let pressure control you. You know why? Because the world is waiting for your impact. You need to GetUp&Move! Now. Keep it Real!

Peace!
